Discover Provence
Before Provence : Drôme Provençale, an Heaven for hidden places & reputed regional specialties !
Provence is such an amazing destination, offering contrasts between its different sections.
From Avignon and the roman cities nearby, from charming perched villages to Aix en Provence and lively Marseille City, from Natural areas such as the Luberon, the Alpilles, Marseille Calanques (cleefs), and a part of the Southern Rhône Valley, there is numerous reasons for a great stay here!
Not to forget the Heritage from impressive monuments (bridges, arenas, canyons, water ponds,…) & famous artists & characters (Cézanne, Van Gogh..), and from all, the gastronomy, part of each region.
Olive Oil, Truffles, Lavender, melon, and of course wine, there are so many local products allowing great meals and cooking classes…
Very busy in July & August, the region becomes more attractive in the early months of May & June (lavender time!) or in the late September & October.
Provence is also including Marseille port & city, considered as the second city in France. Seafood remains important there, and you may take the opportunity to discover the lovely Cassis summer station and its Calanques National Park.
The Luberon is a low mountain range that stretches from east to west between the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Vaucluse department in France, with lovely stone villages, when Camargue is just a great natural site, offering a charming atmosphere and landscape mixing various activities (Arles city & guardians with their white horses & gipsy culture, excursions…)
